Summary:

On Thursday July 23, 2015, an helicopter which belonged to Superior Air S.A with registration SX-HRW while was conducting a flight from Mykonos International Airport (LGMK) to Athens International Airport ‘El. Venizelos’ (LGAV) executed a controlled descend and ditched after an indication of low main rotor r.p.m.. This was happened in a sea area at about 5nm east of the PERATI point of East Attica. During the ditching the pilot successfully energized the emergency pop out floats and the aircraft safely touched the sea. The pilot and the passenger of the aircraft were picked up by a search and rescue helicopter. During this rescue process the ditched helicopter was overturned, the two persons managed to evacuate the helicopter without any injury and then they were picked up. The ditched helicopter remained in the sea inverted until the next day when it was retracted, since originally, it has been towed to the port of Porto Rafti.
