Summary:

On Sunday June14, 2015, the aircraft of Thessaloniki Aeroclub with registration SX-ASD was conducting take-off and landing exercises at Thessaloniki International Airport “MAKEDONIA” (LGTS). During the flare phase of the second landing and just before the main wheels of the aircraft touched the ground, the aircraft leaned to the right and forward without any prior sign or symptom. As result the right hand wing tip and the blades of the propeller of the aircraft hit the ground. At the same time the aircraft turned to the left about 45o to its vertical axis and when the main wheels touched the ground the aircraft veered to the left side of the designated runway and stopped about 150 m out and to the left side of the runway. The Pilot managed to evacuate the aircraft without any injury or any other problem.
