Summary:
On May 28, 2019, a local Paraglider pilot took off from a specially designed area used for taking off Paragliders in the area of Ano Verga of Mount Kalathi near the city of Kalamata, Messinia. The pilot, after a short flight and during his course to land in a predetermined area, lost control of the Paraglider in the area of the Eastern beach of Kalamata and fell into the sea.
The Air Accident Investigation & Aviation Safety Board was notified of the accident and with AAIASB/1975/30.05.2019 & AAIASB/2392/03.07.2019 documents, an Investigation Team and a Technical Adviser were appointed respectively.
